We built our website with Squarespace. Here’s Why

Here’s the deal…

We’ve built websites with WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, Webflow, Shopify, and an entire wave of lesser known website building platforms.

AND we will continue to build on as many website platforms as we can to remain honest experts in the field.

Something not many other people writing on the subject can say. cough* cough*

(They make a poorly designed website once and think it speaks for the platform… lol) Keep reading for some truth.

TLDR: Squarespace forces your website to communicate clearly. Yes, it’s less flexible than other options without hiring an experienced developer, but for most websites and businesses that don’t need complex functionalities… Squarespace just makes a lot of sense.

No matter what WordPress developers may say, anyone who says any of these platforms hinder your search rankings with poor SEO capabilities has been living under a rock (and they likely want to charge you an arm and a leg for basic SEO). These platforms have literally partnered with Google from the start, and we get many of our clients sites to rank #1 for multiple keywords!

With each building platform option there’s a give and a take. If you’d like to see a more in-depth comparison of each website builder, we highly recommend you check out our website design page (scroll to the bottom of the page), where you can see videos for our reasons to pick each of the platforms we create with. Or just jump to our YouTube channel where we are constantly creating videos to keep everyone up-to-date on the subject.

Our website needed to do 4 simple things:

1 – Showcase our portfolio.

2 – Showcase our services.

3 – Have a highly reactive design.

4 – Be easy to maintain so we can focus.

The coolest thing about Squarespace is that, while it limits design freedom, it implements website design best practices superbly.

For the majority of small business owners, a website platform like Squarespace makes a whole lot of sense. That’s why we’ve championed it to showcase our own website. Though we still prefer Wix for the majority of website projects we work on.
